World-Class Prime Surface Heat Exchangers

PLATECOIL designates an infinite variety of efficient and versatile heat transfer products, fabricated from two metal sheets - one or both of which is embossed.

When resistance welded and spot welded together, these embossing form a coil with well defined passages through which a heating or cooling medium flows.  These coils can be immersed, clamped on or fabricated into vessels.

Unlike any other plate type coil - PLATECOIL is die formed with well defined passageways.  These defined passageways are the reason that PLATECOIL has low pressure drop for the heat transfer medium while still offering efficiency.  By forcing the media to all parts of the coil, hot and cold spots are eliminated.  The passages can either be multi-zone, serpentine, or special configurations.

A multi-zone configuration is an exclusive design to Tranter that is specially designed with zoned headers for use with steam, delivering the steam simultaneously to all levels of the PLATECOIL unit.  This configuration also promotes the efficient removal of the condensate from the coil.

Tranter has its own die making facility to produce special dies for custom designed PLATECOIL.  PLATECOILS can be made with ultra shallow passes, very wide passes or very deep passes.

PLATECOIL's inherent flexibility allows it to be bent, rolled or otherwise formed into any configuration.  Pans, vessels, troughs, ducts, and special housings have all been built to meet customer specifications.
