Closed Cycle Systems for Flammable
Materials
The process system is selected according to
the feed and powder characteristics, available heating source, energy
utilization, and operational health and safety requirements.
Open systems
Open systems use atmospheric air for drying. In cases where products
pose a potential dust cloud explosion hazard, plants are provided with
pressure release venting or suppression systems. Heat recovery or
partial recycle of exhaust air can be incorporated to reduce dryer heat
consumption, but usually this can be justified only with large capacity
plants.
